CREATIVE CORNER
The Creative Corner is a place where student achievement and success will be displayed and updated frequently. Besides
just reading and writing, students also engage and participate in speaking and listening activities which
includes creativity and originality. Students are provided the opportunity, individually, with partners, or in groups,
to display technological capabilities to enhance the IB/STEAM component at Lamar Louise Curry.
DRAMA CLUB
If any student is interested in participating in the Drama Club, meetings are scheduled on Monday and Wednesday mornings, from 8:00-8:30 A.M. in Room 510.
Several years ago, after numerous last-minute changes to the program, the six dancers and five actors were still able to pull off a successful 'monologue' performance of THE GREATEST SHOWMAN. Previous performances include THE KARATE KID, WEST SIDE STORY, FROZEN, THE GRINCH, and THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK.
CLASS COLLABORATION
Depending on the lesson, students in class have an opportunity to work independently, with a partner, or in a group setting.
TAKE FLIGHT ON FRIDAYS!
I will be available on Friday mornings from 8:00-9:00 for students to utilize my room as a 'Study Hall.' Students may receive tutoring or opt to make up work and/or complete home learning assignments.
ATHLETICS
I have been the Girls' Basketball and Boys' Volleyball coach for the past seven and three years, respectively. Coaching is an activity that balances the effort implored on academics as I participated in those same athletics during my middle and high school years. Getting students interested in participating is always a challenge, but once a team player, students realize their potential and interest. If you are interested in participating during the 2021-2022 school year, please see me in Room 510.
